Ken May Today!
Welcome to my brand new website! I'm so thrilled that you are here to check it out.
This is a new online multimedia journal that I've created to feature my various projects, such as song demos, videos, essays, commentaries, and other  works in progress—and since most of what I do never makes it to the polished completed stage, I want a way of putting it all out there, and  so this website is for doing that. To experience my latest offering, scroll down the page to "Ken's Kreations." Ken's Kreations

02/23/2011 New Song(demo): Below is a rough demo of a song I wrote today, which is entitled "Let It Go."

               Let It Go
words and music by Ken May 139 ©2011

I'll admit that he treated you bad,
Crushed every dream that you had,
Lead you on so that he could let you down,
Made you the joke of every clown in town.
You use to have so much hope and pride,
But then something die deep inside.
Now while you're lying awake at night,
Here's some good advice:
Let it go.
Let it go.
Let it go.
Let it go.

Here's a sermon you've heard before,
“Vengeance is mine,” saith the Lord,
Like every little schoolboy knows,
We reap just what we sow.
You use to have so much hope and pride,
But then something die deep inside.
Remember while you plot his swift demise
That every murder is suicide.
Let it go.
Let it go.
Let it go.
Let it go.

And when you lay yourself down to sleep,
Say a little prayer for his soul.
Don't you know we're know for the promises we keep
And the grudges we let go.

I'll concede he didn't treat you well,
What he put you through was a living hell,
Lead you on so that he could let you down,
Made you the joke of every clown in town.
You use to have so much hope and pride,
But then something die deep inside.
Now while you're lying awake at night,
Here's some good advice.
Let it go.
Let it go.
Let it go.
Let it go.

02/07/2011: Below is my demo of a song entitled "World of Suffering" that I wrote way  in the nineties and now my brother Mark May has taken it and rewrote and rearranged it and  is going to record it on his next CD. I haven't heard his version yet but there's no way it's not going to be totally awesome! To hear my demo, click on the player below.
  World of Suffering
Words and music by Ken May 139

You can run, you can hide, you can look for shelter.
You can cheat, you can lie, you can beg or barter.
Make a plan, organize, but it's helter skelter in this world of suffering.
You can hope, you can pray, you can plead for mercy.
You can drink night and day but you'll still be thirsty.
There's no peace and you'll find no security in this world of suffering.

You guard against each possibility. You prepare to deal with any emergency.
You try to avoid life's calamities but all for nothing.
And while you're evading adversity, you've overlooked opportunity.
There's a lot you could learn from this world of suffering.

You look low, you look high, you peruse the scriptures.
Ask the stars in the sky but you get no answer.
Not a clue to say why there's the sick and crippled in this world of suffering.
You think life's just a place to enjoy what's pleasing
And you can't bear to face that death has its season.
You can't see any plan nor any rhyme or reason in this world of suffering.

But if God had made this Earth into a paradise and everywhere everything was always nice,
We would live a painless life but all for nothing.
So why don't you believe what God has made is wise and that faith is revealed to be freedom's price,
And that's what you need to learn from this world of suffering.

In style and content, this song is influenced by the great George Harrison and the music of India. The lyrics are  about how it's impossible to have free will without suffering because unless there are things in life that we don't like, there is no need or possibility to make choices and without choices we have no freedom.
